People always say, "I've never met a hypnotist before. How did you become one?" So, I tell them my story...
I spent the bulk of my post college life climbing the "corporate ladder." I kept thinking that the next rung would be the one that held happiness. Low and behold, even after reaching the top rung in fairly short order, happiness and fulfillment eluded me. Don't get me wrong, I had some wonderful experiences. I got to travel extensively. I met some wonderful people, many of whom I still consider my friends today. I got paid handsomely. But I didn't feel like I was making a valuable contribution and the more time that passed the more certain I was that I was not on my intended path.
So I made the bold decision to STOP and not take another step until I KNEW what I was intended to do. To my amazement, once I made that firm commitment, my purpose made itself abundantly clear. Hypnosis would literally not get out of my way. Every time I turned on the TV or opened a magazine there was some mention of hypnosis. The signals got so loud and frequent that I couldn't ignore the flock of little birds that were squawking "Hypnosis," "Hypnosis," "Hypnosis."
There was no formal graduate program available in hypnosis at the time, but I found the program that was considered "the best" and off I went. I hate to admit it, but I was not the easiest student. I went into training fairly skeptical. Like most American's, I am accustomed to the traditional medical model, which didn't hold a lot of credence in hypnosis or other non-traditional healing modalities. I questioned everything. And I do mean everything.
Fortunately the more I questioned, the more my life-long questions got answered. And then when I experienced hypnosis for myself I was blown away by its power and have been happily exploring the wonders of hypnosis ever since. I have invested thousands of dollars and logged hundreds and hundreds of hours in my training. I've been in private practice for 10 years now and have worked with thousands of clients - learning and refining my trade with every client experience.
Now it's time for me to teach others what I know. I've been trained to train others by the National Guild of Hypnotists, the oldest and largest governing body of hypnotists in the country. The NGH has outlined an outstanding curriculum, which I've enriched with all that I've learned through study and experience. Working one-on-one, or with groups of clients is wonderful. But in order to spread "the word" more people need to learn and apply this incredibly powerful tool. Its uses are virtually limitless as it gives us access to the other 90% of our mind's capacity.
I feel eternally grateful that I have found my calling and am excited to share my passion and knowledge with you.
